Let the Harvest Begin

"Sow for yourselves righteousness,
reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the LORD,
until he comes and showers righteousness on you."
Hosea 10:12

Just behind our backyard fence lies an open wash covered in weeds and cacti.
The space has been begging for new plant life, so we dug into the hard soil and blessed it with nutrient-rich dirt and a whole-lotta vegetable plants and seeds. We're hoping that a bountiful harvest awaits us in the summer months. Fingers crossed that the wire fence can fend off the hungry bunnies who munch on our grass every morning.

New wheels

We are sensing the onset of summer.
Anticipating BBQs and dinners alfresco.
Imagining a harvest of homegrown fare.
Off to home-depot the boys went with plans to tackle the project of enriching the side yard soil and filling it with herbs et al. They returned with a wheelbarrow and the afternoon, the entire afternoon, was spent assembling it.
And so the garden still exists only in our dreams. But the kids have some new wheels to cruise the yard in!

Three.

Zachary Is:

Tender. Exuberant. Curious. Focused.

Adventurous and Brave.

Seriously Funny.

Generous.

Eager to do what is good.

Quick to share with a friend.

Always available for hugs and cuddles.

An amazing helper, especially in the kitchen.

A creator of mess and mayhem (keeps us on our toes and on our knees --in prayer).

A loyal brother.

Handsome as can be.

A one of a kind person created in the image of God with a purpose that only his hands can fulfill. (Jeremiah 29:11)

And he just turned 3!

On April 19th we celebrated the day we first had the joyous honor of holding him in our arms.
His life is evidence of the Divine Creator; the Loving GOD and Savior of the world.

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his external power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." Romans 1:20

Happy Feet

Although she no longer receives formal Ballet instruction, Jayden still has a passion to twirl and twit about on her toes.
She loves to tell people that she goes to "pretend Ballet class" which takes place in our living room.
Zachary often obliges her requests for a dance partner, but he put his foot down when she told him to put on some white tights. He said "no ce-ce I can wear my pants!".
Here's a bit of video from some recent pretending :)

Magnificent

Psalm 8:3-4,9

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of
him, and the son of man that You visit him?"
"O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Daddy's Day

When the calendar turned to March, Jayden and her preschool pals began prep for a very special day in their classroom.

DADDY'S DAY!
An hour for Dads to join in snack time, play time, and a special project with their child.

They created invitations, decorated gift bags, and decoupaged a treasure jar adorned with their footprint and a special poem for Dads to stash golf balls or spare change. Here is a peek into the precious time that Marty shared with Jayden.
